Years with Performing arts 1972 to 1974 Nova High. I played a number of sports and that was my passion during high school. Mrs. Hall recruited me and found out I couldn\u2019t sing, dance or act so I became a big help to the back stage. I did have a small part in Mame and enjoyed hamming it up. I think that was clear I wasn\u2019t for the stage. \"\ud83d\ude0a\"<\/p>\n

Being a part of the Performing Arts program experience was some of the best times of my life. I fell in love with the theater after traveling with the class twice to see Broadway shows. I have loved the theater to this day. I always say I may not be talented but the talent on stage needs me applauding for them. Some of my best friends today are alumni of the Hall Hill Performing Arts program.<\/p>\n

After school I ended up working in my father’s Tile Business and took over the reins and to this day it continues successfully.<\/p>\n

I married Vikki Maseman my high school sweetheart. Paige and Vikki were best friends in High School and still are today. Vikki has always been a friend and supporter to so many in Performing Art. She helped by passing out programs and being a support during the shows.<\/p>\n

Today my wife Angela and I divide our time between New Hope, PA, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and our boat. We have four adult children\u2014three living in New York City and the fourth in the Washington, D.C. area. They\u2019ve also blessed us with beautiful grandchildren \u2014 what a joy!<\/p>\n

All four of our children were raised in a musical household, and now the grandchildren are following in their footsteps. All four are expected to take part in our family Christmas concert this year.<\/p>\n

Professionally, my life has centered on mathematics and computers, from the early Nova days through to the present. Much of my work has revolved around machine intelligence, so you can imagine how meaningful it is for me to witnes  and in some ways contribute to\u2014the rise of AI, which is already transforming the world.<\/p>\n

Since the late \u201990s, Angela and I have devoted much of our charitable focus to math, science, and education, believing deeply in their power to change lives.<\/p>\n

Nova Performing Arts, in my view, exemplifies the profound impact a program can have on students and the broader world. It was a group with ambitious goal \u2014and it succeeded. Its alumni have gone on to do remarkable things. Whenever I reflect on those wonderful days, I\u2019m struck by how special they were, and by the enduring relationships that were formed\u2014many of which have lasted more than half a century.<\/p>\n

After Graduating from Nova High School in 1977, I attended the University of Florida and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering in 1981. I joined my brother Peter at his then brand new company, Proximity Technology. It was a long way from Construction but the market in 1981 was not great. In 1990 when Franklin (Proximity’s new parent company) decided to move the company to New Jersey, my family and I decided to pass. I immediately got involved with another software company in Coral Gables called Cybernetics and was 1\/2 of the team that turned the company around. In 1996, Cybernetics was sold to a public company. I stayed around for 1 year and then moved on to another start-up with Peter called Netrics.com. In 1999, I finally started in the construction business and have now constructed over 175 homes. www.waterbrookbuilders.com<\/a><\/p>\n

I have been married to Mindy since May of 1986 and we have two sons. Andrew is 38 (Married to Andrea) (University of Florida) and Michael is 36 (Married to Amelia) (Florida State University). We live in the same East Fort Lauderdale neighborhood that I grew up in.  We have four Grand Children \u2013 Emil Carlos Yianilos and Elio Andres Yianilos (Andrew & Andrea).  Sophia Beatrice Yianilos and Marina Thalia Yianilos (Michael & Amelia)<\/p>\n
